Pat Althizer, event and sports photographer, founded Mountain Town Photos in 2003. His love for photography and the mountain area provided him with the motivation required to develop this Web site. He saw a need in the Central California mountain area for events to be covered providing photos to participants in an easy and effective way. And what could be more effective than the Internet. In 2002, it was estimated that over 600 million people worldwide were online—and that number is now even larger!

Hosting event and sports photography online allows Mountain Town Photos to provide a service where the photographers get to cover the events they love (oftentimes, capturing once-in-a-lifetime shots) and at the same time permitting event participants to obtain them.
